About the Artist

I couldn't do a lot of what I do without my family, and I feel like the "about the artist" page should start with a special mention of the group of people who support me, encourage me, and help me grow as an individual and an artist.  

Family is a huge deal to me, and there are bits of that love littered throughout much of my work. My family was born and raised in Hawaii, and some of the Hawaiian culture has made it into the subject of some of the pieces I am most proud of.  My family has always been a creative bunch. So, naturally, we challenge and inspire each other in our respective creative outlets.  

I am always so surprised by some of the work I have done that was specifically requested or formally challenged by my creative clan! The challenge that comes with learning a new medium or attempting to create a subject I have never thought about before is sometimes the best part of my creative process as my imagination runs wild with ideas.
